ARIZONA ELK HUNTING- UNIT DESCRIPTIONS
Unit 9
We have hunted Unit 9 for many years. Pinyon Juniper & Ponderosa Pine habitat. High bull to cow ratio. Bulls need to bugle for a great hunt because the unit is mostly thickly timbered and not glasser friendly. Bugling activity has become more unpredictable on the archery hunt. Lots of 310-330 bulls. A Few 350 bulls with the chance for a giant.
Late hunt is difficult due to country being tough to glass during late season making for a challenging hunt.
